My name is Omar Farooq Fakhri, I was working with the US Consulate in Erbil as Mailroom Clerk
As a Mail Room Clerk with US Consulate/Erbil I was in charge of drafting lists of mail senders and recipients, classifying the mail items into regular and official mails and distribute them accordingly, collecting the new arrival staff information to install new mailboxes for them, in coordination with the security team, I was in charge of screening the external paper mail for the US officials, I was the building warden representative coordinating with the Security team for the office.
As a Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, with RTI Organization, I was doing all issues that were related with the trainings, such as traveling, booking the venues for the trainees, prepare all the participant names, coordinating with the Hotels management, coordinating with the buses to transport the participants and all other expenses related to the training session.
As an Office Manager, with the US consulate's Provincial Reconstruction team (PRT), I was in charge of all the employee’s admin issues such as drafting their time sheets, preparing the time schedule for the guards’ attendances, preparing the schedule of the meetings, booking the conference room for the meetings, purchasing water and stationery, as well as provide and meet all needs and supplies of the office in addition to translating official documents from Arabic to English and vice versa. and also, I was doing the routine functions of Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing new staff, administrating pays, benefits, and leave as well as enforcing company policies and practices, and keep track of employee performance in order to create a safe and inclusive work environment.
As an Interpreter and Human Resources (HR) assistant, in International Rescue Committee – IRC. I was in charge of, organizing the interviews with the new hiring staff, and creating a data base for them in MS Office, including their payroll, leaves and overtimes as well as drafting the time-sheet for the employees, as well as doing other issues as needed.
