My most important learning is that safe lifting is not just about technical competence, but about mindset, culture, and discipline. Over the years, I’ve learned that even the best lift plans and equipment can fail if communication, situational awareness, and human factors are neglected. I’ve also learned the value of proactive risk management — identifying hazards early, planning redundancies, and never relying on assumptions. Most importantly, I’ve learned that leadership in lifting operations means empowering teams to speak up, stop unsafe work, and prioritize safety over schedule or cost. Consistent standards, continuous learning, and respect for procedures are what truly prevent incidents and build operational excellence.
